Quantity takeoff — measured quantities off the drawing

Pro feature Updated 2026-08-25

Open Tables in the top bar and choose Quantities. It measures what you have drawn — wall lengths and areas, roof covering, slab, openings, terraces and paving — and groups them by the build-up each element carries. Nothing is stored, so a quantity can never be out of date with the drawing.

Quantity takeoff is a Pro feature.

What is on the sheet

SectionWhat it measures
Materials (from build-ups)Layer materials totalled across everything that carries a build-up.
Building elementsWalls by build-up, with count, centreline length and face area; roof covering; slab.
OpeningsDoors and windows by type.
Site & outdoorsTerraces, paving, pools.

Every row states its unit — m, m², m³ or pieces.

The honesty rules

The numbers are labelled with what they mean, because a takeoff that flatters is worse than none:

  • Wall area is one face, storey-rectangular, with openings deducted. The triangle of a gable is not counted.
  • Roof covering is the true sloped area from the roof solve, clipped to what actually shows after roofs merge — not the plan footprint.
  • The slab reads closed wall loops. An outline that does not close yields no slab, rather than a guess.

Getting it out

Tick Quantities in the export dialog and it prints as its own sheet in the PDF set. See exporting to PDF.

What this doesn’t do

  • It does not price anything. This is a bill of quantities, not a cost estimate — no rates, no totals in money.
  • No waste or lap allowances. What is drawn is what is counted; add your own allowance.
  • Furnishing is not counted, and neither are fixings, fasteners or labour.
